Life Insurance
Life insurance, explained simply.
Life insurance is really about one question: if you weren't here, would the people who depend on you be okay? This page explains how coverage works, the two main types, and how to think about the amount — before anything is recommended.
What life insurance is for
A life insurance benefit is generally paid tax-free to the people you choose. What it does after that is up to the plan you build.
Replace your income
If your paycheque stopped tomorrow, life insurance can help the people who depend on it keep paying for everyday life — the mortgage, groceries, childcare, and everything in between.
Cover the mortgage and debts
Coverage can be structured so a home and other debts don't become a burden on the people left behind.
Fund your children's education
A benefit can help keep education plans on track, even if a parent isn't there to see them through.
Leave something behind
Final expenses, taxes, and a legacy for the next generation — permanent coverage often plays a role here.

Together we work through roughly how much coverage your situation calls for, in plain numbers you can actually evaluate.
3. Compare your options
As independent brokers we're not tied to one insurer, so we look across providers for options that fit your goals and budget.

Life changes — homes, children, businesses. We revisit your coverage with you as your situation evolves.

Life insurance questions
How much life insurance do I actually need?
There's no single number. A common starting point is to add up what your family would need — income replacement, the mortgage, debts, education, and final expenses — then subtract what you already have in savings and existing coverage. A free coverage review walks through this with you using your real numbers.
What's the difference between term and permanent life insurance?
Term life insurance covers you for a set period (often 10, 20, or 30 years) and is usually the most affordable way to protect growing families. Permanent life insurance lasts your whole life and can play a role in estate planning and leaving a legacy. Many people use a combination of both.
Do I need life insurance if I have coverage through work?
Group coverage through an employer is a great start, but it's usually a multiple of your salary and typically ends when you leave the job. It's worth comparing it against what your family would actually need.
Is life insurance expensive?
Cost depends on the type and amount of coverage, your age, and other factors. Term coverage for a healthy young family is often more affordable than people expect. We'll help you understand the trade-offs before anything is recommended.
Do I have to take a medical exam?
It depends on the insurer, the amount of coverage, and your circumstances — some applications involve medical questions or an exam, others don't. We'll explain what to expect for the options you're considering.
Do you work with clients across Ontario?
We serve clients across Ontario. Much of the process can happen by phone or video, wherever you are in Ontario.
Ready to talk it through?
A free coverage review is a conversation, not a sales call. You'll leave with a clearer picture of what your family would need — whether or not you move forward.
